Five expenditure groups contributed to inflation in Bandar Lampung City, the group Foodstuffs contributed to inflation by 0.11 percent; Finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.01 percent; Housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.29 percent; Clothing by 0.02 percent and transportation, communication & financial services group by 0.11 percent. While health and education, recreation, and sports groups do not contribute to inflation.
Some of the dominant commodities contributing to inflation include electricity tariffs, intercity transport, kale, rice, oranges, live chickens, kediro cakes, pears, potatoes, and fruit tomatoes.
Based on the calculation of Consumer Price Index (CPI), Bandar Lampung's inflation was due to an increase in index in the foodstuff category which experienced an increase in index by 0.49 percent; Finished food, beverage, cigarette & tobacco group by 0.04 percent; Housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group by 1.07 percent; Clothing group by 0,31 percent; Education, recreation & sports group by 0.02 percent; And the transport, communication & financial services group by 0.77 percent. In contrast, the healthcare group experienced a deflation of 0.07 percent.
Bandar Lampung City Inflation was ranked 57th out of 82 cities observed for the development of its price. Of 82 cities, 79 cities experienced inflation, and 3 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual at 4.48 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Merauke at 0.12 percent. In contrast, the highest deflation occurred in Singaraja at 0.64 percent, and the lowest deflation occurred in Denpasar by 0.01 percent.
